INDECOPI wakes up with a new President

The Peruvian Unfair Competition and Intellectual Property Institute (INDECOPI) has appointed a new President after accepting the resignation of Mr Jaime Thorne, who is assuming the position of Minister of Defence.

The new President is business manager Eduardo de la Piedra Higueras, who graduated in business administration at the University of Lima. He has also studies in Marketing at London University, and various other courses. Moreover, Mr Eduardo de la Piedra Higueras has training courses in management, planning, marketing, sales and quality in the training centre of the Xerox Corporation, where he worked for 25 years.

The appointment was made through the Supreme Resolution No. 255-2010-PCM, published yesterday in the official gazette ‘El Peruano’.
